For You, What Women in Education Make an Impression?

Jennifer McCollum, last year's Lisa's Award winner!

In education, we possess an unusual opportunity. And it’s the choice in how we touch the lives of an immense number of young minds throughout our careers. During every year, in schools across the country and the world, students from all genders, races, creeds, and backgrounds pass through our halls.

And beyond lesson plans or regular assignments, there’s our decision to make an impression by who we honor and why we honor them. Whether we recognize a historical name or celebrate a local, even unsung hero of the classroom, the truth is simple… our students are watching where we’re drawing our inspiration from. And this is certainly true on days like International Women’s Day.

So, we want to hear from you. What female educators are making a difference in your school? Nominate them for Lisa’s Legacy Award in Literature, and they could be featured by Writing with Design!
